ABOUT US

HISTORY OF THE CLUB
Panania Diggers was founded by committed group of returned servicemen who in the early 50s,  worked tirelessly to secure the clubs trading licence.  This was issued on 5 January 1959 and the club was known as Panania East Hills RSL Club. United through their war experiences, this group shared a common goal to provide a facility that would service not only returned service men and women but the broader Panania East Hills community.

The clubhouse has grown considerably since the early fibro shed to a large relaxing venue that provides facilities indoors and out for people of all ages to enjoy.

The club continues to support those who have served for Australia thanks to the dedication of volunteer Welfare Officers and advocates.  Their efforts have ensured the ongoing needs of our aging veterans are met in a dignified and prompt manner.

In keeping with the club movement charter, Panania Diggers is also committed to its role as a community leader through generous cash and in-kind support to a wide variety of not-for-profit groups that service the area.

The Panania Diggers team is also committed to providing an outstanding entertainment venue that is accessible to people of all ages and caters for the diverse cultural, age and other needs of the local community.

NAME CHANGE
In July 2007 the club adopted its new trading name of Panania Diggers. This was chosen to reflect the new direction of the club whilst honouring the original charter of the club.
